Just a heads up on one thing to try regarding whining ,ive been testing all day today with a new psu and the bitfenix merc alpha case

first i tested a 5770 and could hear the whining only through the front panel headphones, swapped to a 5870 same thing, did fresh clean install of windows, same whining could be heard, switched psu, same whining could also hear

it screech when i moved the mouse pointer across the screen making me think it was gpu related

at this point in time i disconnected the front panel usb the motherboard and voila!!! as quiet as a mouse

so if your having similar issues id suggest you try this and see if it fixes things or you:D

p.s it looks to me that bitfenix have mounted the usb sockets to close to the headphone socket or not shielded it adequately hence the interference noise
