I'd like to buy a new graphics card for under £400.

I'm not sure which is best at the moment, for the likes of games such as cod2, cod4, css, crysis and any upcoming dx10 releases.

would it have to be the HD 3870 X2 ?

this is following my thread of the artifacting 8800gts.. im sending it back to asus and the process can take as long as 28 working days (i cant wait that long)

so yeah, im in the market for a top of the line graphics card, and would like to know which is the best for my budget.

Well with that budget, skies the limit really. The best single (pseudo-single I should say) card solution at the moment is the 3870X2. But for £400, you could get an 8800Ultra, though it's not really worth the dosh, a 8800GTX or you could go for an SLi set-up.

You could get 8800GT's in SLi if you have the right motherboard for circa £300 or perhaps even the 8800GTS -512mb in SLi for circa £400.

But best single board solution at the minute is the 3870X2. more or less.
