White Battery Icon - Android 4.4 KitKat Samsung Galaxy S4

Hi

My mobile battery icon has turned white due to upgrading to Android 4.4 KitKat

It use to be coloured green.

Has anyone got any idea how to restore back to the green icon?

Only way is via root.

You must be the only person I've read that likes the green.

Doesn't the S4 have KNOX? And if he roots... wouldn't that trigger it and hence voids his warranty?

There are ways around the KNOX on the galaxy s4 so that it does not trigger.

as for the S5 people are working on it.

+1, last time I had a Galaxy phone it was actual easier to root then a Nexus device, now you have ******* knox to ruin the fun thou. I remember all you have to do with flash the latest chain fire stock kernel with root and you would be done.

Sheesh, I've been behind then. Didn't know there were ways around KNOX. OP still needs to learn how to change the system UI after rooting though

. Unless someone already prepared a flashable zip...

But it would wipe the device (unlocking the bootloader usually does this) and it would render certain apps unusable (banking apps, Sky Go, etc).

In no way is it worth it to change the colour of an icon.

No, Samsung device's don't get wiped when rooted.

Pfffft to banking and sky go apps. Couldn't care less.

As said, root the stock firmware and then use Xposed and Wanam Xposed. Offers all sorts of customisation

At this point though I'd just go the whole way and put a bloat free custom rom on there

natwest app still works with root. No idea about others.
