Does the MDCP-X white heat shrink work as heatshrinkless? I've only used black before which is sold as heatshrinkless, but would the MDCP-X do the same thing? I am concerned about using black as it's on a white cable, so I don't want to turn the cable black.

Can't imagine why it wouldn't work tbh. might just be a little trickier to get/pull off.
You could always use paracord and skip and heatshrink at all. As long as you don't snag the pin on the paracord i think it looks just as good. (Putting a thin straw over the end of the pin whilst sleeving it works a dream
