There should be neither black nor white history month.

Morgan Freeman said:
You're going to relegate my history to a month? I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history. There is no white history month. The only way to stop racism is to stop talking about it. I am going to stop calling you a white man and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man.

It's ripped and up on Youtube:

Vonhelmet's quote isn't entirely accurate, though the gist of it is the same.

The missing bit right at the end, where the clip cuts off, is Morgan Freeman saying "You hear what I'm saying?"

Loud and clear. He's advocating integration in the teaching of American history, teaching history as history, rather than a special black-only month to teach history as politics, separating out "blacks". He's also advocating that the way to end racism is to stop seeing "race" as the be-all and end-all, the defining feature of a person. I think he's spot on - you can't stop "race" being a focus by making "race" a focus. That's counter-productive.

Morgan Freeman talks sense shocker!!

People are people full stop, you judge them by what they say and their actions.
Special dispensation should not be given for what ever god they believe in or the colour of their skin.
Just the same as when we look back through history you should learn of the men and deeds that shaped the present, regardless of their skin colour.
