White iPhone 4 delayed until spring 2011.

I just saw the multi coloured bumpers in the apple store today and thought i would get the iPhone 4 if they release the white ones....then i just saw the news online about it pushed back to next spring....

I get a feeling they don't want to release it with the same design fault. The white one will be release alongside the iPhone 5 i think....i can wait, i think...
 
Read about this the other day. I heard it was due to the white home button plastic not matching the rest of the white case. However, holding it until the antenna issues are fixed does sound plausible.
 
Just read this. Kind of disappointed as I was waiting for one. I might hold out till Spring, but I'd be gutted if the iPhone 5 came out in July, with an all new design and hardware.
 
I'd love to know what the specific problem is, because it's almost comical that something so apparently trivial is taking this long to sort out.

I agree if it is something as simple as matching white plastic to white-backed glass. However, if it is due to the antenna problem then it makes perfect sense.

It could even be a combination of the two – it may have started out as a colour matching problem but once the issue with the antenna became apparent they decided just to put the white one on hold until the 4s or 5 or what ever they call it is released. By delaying it every few months they don't have to admit there was a design flaw with the 4 but don't have to release *another* faulty product which doesn't resolve the issue.
 
I bet they are trying to design it with the same form factor but solve the antenna issue too. Since the bumper is doldrums in huge quantities, and that also lead me to believe that iPhone 5 will look the same as iPhone 4 like 3G and 3GS...

And with the delay of the white one, my iPhone v1 behaving slower than a Nokia 3210...

I bought a iPhone 4 on PAYG 20 mins ago lol, £450!
 
If the issue is with getting the home button the same colour as the front, why not just do the front black and the back white like previous phones? I like the white back on mine but was never sure of the white front proposed in the 4 anyway.

Because it looks gash.

The question is, why not just use a glass home button so they can spray them in the same way they do the glass for the back.

Heck, send the job to my company (glass manufacture) and we'll spray them :p
 
Never really come in this forum, although i am a fan of apple products.

I have been waiting for the white iphone4 for ages, and struggling with an old 3G in the mean time. What is all this now about iphone5? I understood that the only model rumoured was simply a slight redesign of the 4, with compatibility with CDMA for use on verizon wireless etc?

Iphone5 sounds exciting?

Same boat as you tbh. Was waiting for the white one, but I might as well wait for the iPhone 5 now. Would have liked the white one tbh, it's something different.
 
I was also waiting for the white one, might get round to buying a black one, but will probably end up just buying iPhone 5, what ever that ends up being.
