White Macbook Keyboard query

Due to suffering the palmrest crack problem with my Macbook, I dropped it off for repair from the store it was purchased from (Not an Apple store, a high street chain), I've just collected it and checked that the damage was repaired (they've changed the top and bottom section of the body).

However, I've noticed that they've changed the keyboard to a different key setup, more like the US setup with the smaller Return key.

Is this normal on newer white Macbooks, or have they fitted the wrong keyboard??

I've had a look on the UK Apple site which also look like US keyboard setups, but they probably don't change the pictures from the UK one's.

A look through the Mac Gallery in this forum seems to suggest the newer Macbooks still come with the standard UK style Return key.

I'm going to drop it back off tomorrow, but I just wondered if anyone her had had their top cover and keyboard replaced, and if so, which keyboard was fitted?

why not phone and ask them? remember that the White macbook is now out of production, so spares aren't as plentifull as they used to be. perhaps there aren't any UK-style keyboards left :P

It's easier for me to go in and ask than to ring (you can't get directly through to the service desk, and I only work about 5 minutes from the store), I just wanted an idea on whether other people had been given a different spec keyboard.
Point taken about the white Macbook being out of production, but it's not that long since the alum's came out so I can't imagine stocks of spares would be in short supply for the previous models. Certainly a healthy stock level of spares should be kept until at least the last of the AppleCare warranties passed validity.

White macbook is still in production - You can buy one now form the Apple website.

Plus they will have plenty of spares in stock as people will have Applecare etc - I had my keyboard replaced last month.

No they aren't, Apple still sell them. In fact, they were only updated to a new spec the other day.

What was so funny :(

I couldn't work out what was funny either...

Anyway, thanks to all who replied, and for reminding me it's not just the Return key that's different.... :o

Will take it back tomorrow and see if they can get it right the second time!
