Ive been looking for a piece of software that will allow me to generate different frequencies of noise, including white, pink, brown etc.

I found Noise 1.1 but this only does white and pink at one freq each.

What I really want is a Mac version of this:

Soundmasker

Any ideas?

what do the different colour noises mean?

my only experience of white noise is with white noise time series where every observation is independent of the others.

I thought that white noise was the only "colour" of noise (like when you turn on an untuned analogue TV and you see white specs flying around and a noise (called white noise)).

TidBit: White noise is the left-over radiation from the big-bang being received by your TV and turned into sound and picture.
