white screen on blackberry curve 8520

I recently broke my screen on my phone and order a replacement screen. I took the phone apart and inserted the new screen. For some reason the screen is only displaying a white screen. I've connected everything back how it was before so i haven't done anything wrong there. It could possibly be a faulty screen.

anyone had a similar problem that could help.

There is a fix for the WSOD. It's black tape over some contacts inside the phone under the screen. There are fixes on youtube for it.

A white screen on any LCD usually means something isn't connected or isn't connected correctly i.e a 5v or 12v pin signal missing from the LVDS cable.

In this case it's a short which is caused by the rubbing of the cable on the screen underneath. It's common on BB's.

I see. I only deal with TV's.

I only know as I had to fix my brothers but following a guide with black tape over the ribbon to stop it from contacting another cable solved it.

is it the correct version. on the back of your lcd there should be some number e.g xxxx/004

you need the correct version. if you can see the number there should be some balck tape around the edges of the lcd on the back. the number should be under the tape
