White screen when gaming "volmgr event 161"

Hello, first time poster here I won't waste your time with a introduction (I hope you don't mind)

I have recently been getting a white (once red) screen when gaming on a newly built FX8350/RX480 build (planned build in the past didn't materialise at the time) full specs below.

FX8350 (not overclocked)
Raijintek Themis Cooler
GA-970A-UD3P
G.Skill Ripjaws X 1866/9 DDR3
ASUS Strix RX480 8gb (oc)
Crucial MX500 250gb SSD
EVGA Supernova 650W 80+gold
Zalman Z3 Plus ATX tower
Windows 10 Pro

I recently performed a in-place upgrade of the OS in a attempt to fix another issue (GPU buzzing after overclock(not coil whine) and also around this time I got a virus. Ever since the white sceen will occur when gaming so I don't which is the cause. All the temps are fine, I hit reset it goes staright back into Windows so I don't believe it to be hardware failure

In event viewer at the same time as the crash I get a "volmgr event 161 error. I have been researching and it seems to be driver or possibly OS related.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix it iv'e done a clean install and it still happens. ANy help would be most appreciated.
