Who are/were Oasis the band?

I never herd of these guys before i was born in 93 and i listen to rap raggae mainly, but just recently i caught attention to one of their songs that had nearly 43 million hits. Wonderwall, and i also listend to live forever.

I actually love these songs, its got to do with the beat and the vocals, they sound very british. Can you guys tell me who they were, why they split up?

Manchester band, part of the "Britpop" era. Very popular, very successful and split because the two brothers really got on each others nerves it seems.

They were an awesome band. Saw them in Manchester (oasis home town) a few years ago just before they broke up. 70,000 people - awesome atmosphere!

I believe they broke up because the 2 brothers - Noel and Liam kept falling out so decided to call it a day.

Oasis weren't my cup of tea, but everyone knows of the band. Not knowing of Oasis is like not knowing of Trainspotting. They're that well known.

I'm not sure I believe you. It's unpossible.

That said they weren't very ground breaking.. They just did what bands before them had done quite well and the media told people to like them. Right place at the right time playing decent music.

The brothers are a pair of scumbags though.
