I thought thought today is it realy expensive to build a gaming setup.

I came up with this

Motherboard: Asus A8V-MX VIA K8M800 Micro ATX (Socket 939) Motherboard (MB-122-AS) £46.94

XFX GeForce PCX6600 Extreme XXX Edition 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/Dual DVI
(PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT43-PUDS7) (GX-058-XF) £82.19

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3200BPBOX) (CP-118-AM) £108.04

Memory: Corsair 1GB DDR Value Select PC3200 CAS2.5 Kit (2x512MB) (VS1GBKIT400) (MY-041-CS) £57.52

Harddrive: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 160GB 6L160P0 ATA-133 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-057-MD) £48.12

Case: Optronix Midi Tower Case - (Black) 400w PSU (CA-002-OP) £28.14

OcUK Value Floppy Drive - Black (HD-001-OK) £6.99

Samsung SH-D162 DVD-ROM (Black) - OEM (CD-002-SA) £12.87

Mouse: Logitech S96 PS/2 Optical Wheel Mouse Black - OEM (KB-046-LG) £6.46

Logitech Internet Pro Keyboard (Black) - OEM (KB-011-LG) £10.52

Logitech S100 10W RMS Speakers Black - OEM (SP-023-LG) £6.99

Monitor: BenQ FP51G 15" LCD Monitor (MO-017-BQ) £117.44

Total £532.22[/SIZE]

Would this all work? The only thing to worry me here is how would the PSU hold out coming free with the cheap case.

I changed the Mobo to support PCI-Express and went with an Antec case as it come with an Antec PSU and Antec are suppose to be the greatest PSU masters. :D A case and PSU in one will save cash of course Antec seems the best bet.

Yep, I think the Antec case and PSU combinations are good value and not likely to blow up (can't say the same for the good ol' Q-Tecs! :D)
