Who designed that website?

There are a few websites i am looking at for a uni project.

There is no mention on any of them about who they were designed by?

Is there some fancy way of finding out or is my best bet to send them an email and ask??

Best to send an email and ask if you can.

a lot of sites have an "email webmaster" option hidden about the place. Probably the best place to start. I'd though doubt if you'll find this on google or amazon, for example.

If you could post your examples, and what you're looking for, people here could be more help to you.

Look at the whois records for the domain name, they are often registered on a clients behalf by the design agency. The other option is searching for the site name and the word "portfolio". Lastly, try seeing if they have their details registered on the IP address the site resides at (but that's a long shot).
