Who do you think is the wealthiest F1 driver?

out of ones still driving? probably fernando as hes on somethingh like 30 mil a year.

barrichello has been around for ages but how much does he really get paid i bet its not a lot and i doubt it ever has been

Räikkönen was on a huge amount, i think Ferrari only finished paying him off at the end of 2010, i think it was around £32 million, though it might be higher as he was one of the highest paid sportsman in 2009.

Alonso has only been with ferrari since last year, but yeah, at £30 million, that would be hard to beat. Button is on £6 million a year with McLaren, and Hamilton must be on similar money.

laughs - I think Hamilton is on two or three times JB's £6m/season

bank balance I would say Alonso easily (Im sure Renault paid him pretty decently also, not to mention how much he got from McLaren for the single season)

JB's bank balance is probably not great considering the £18m he is meant to have paid Williams for not going back there.

I don't think McLaren pay Hamilton all that much - relatively, obviously. Maybe around £10m or so, which for a WDC isn't a lot. Most of his money comes from sponsorship and that kind of shenanegans.

IIRC if Hamilton had won the WDC in 2007 he would have been one of the cheapest world champions ever as he was only earning around £500,000 for the season.

It's Irvine. I've seen this documented before he made so much money on investments and property that even when the likes of Villeneuve was on 16 million a year Irvines worth dwarfed him.

Hamiltons sponsorship money probably far out strips his pay cheque.

I heard that reebok give him around £12,000,000 a year, but thats purely rumour.

Christ, if that's true, that's incredible.
I wonder how much TAG watches pays him.
I think he has to wear those as they sponsor McLaren. The guy who own TAG is part owner of McLaren group with Ron Dennis.

I'd imagine their "basic salary" is probably less than half of their annual income. What with sponsors events etc, the figure could easily be twice what we're lead to believe.
And the bonuses they get for scoring championship points.
