nice, do you think that side mounted fan on the iChillX4 Inno3D would really be any benefit/fail early and be an issue to replace (or not replace if failed) vs the other cards normal fan design? Looks a bit bs gimmicky to me? I did originally think a Zotac would be ideal, I'm just having a nightmare seeing mixed reviews then hearing 1 is owned by the other lol.Not sure whether the quality is the same as it was a couple years back, but Zotac was always a solid buy in my books.
Ah so I'd be better of with either zotac then as I'd want to OC it in the future just to help it along a bit as required. Cheers for that! Think I'll go for either Zotac then! As for rgb etc it's going in a 2006 Mac Pro case I'm modifying that sits under the desk with no window so rgb won't be happening on anything I buy unless it just happens to have it standard haha.In the past I would have picked Zotac but during the price hikes Inno3D was the only brand I could find in stock at a decent price. Thought I had made a mistake with a 3070 Ti but turns out they all tend to run hot. Now have a 3080 iChill X4 and it's been no trouble at all and runs very cool and quiet.
Biggest downside to the Inno3d seem to be power limitation so no headroom on the power slider. Doesn't bother me as I don't OC with power and tend to under volt if anything.
The top VRM fan my do something but it's hardly noticeable as I took it off my 3070 Ti for a while. The one advantage of the iCill X4 cooler design is that it presents some lighting in either vertical or Horizontal orientation if you want to see something through a glass side panel.
Thanks, yeah as I thought a gimmick plastic fest lol! I find it hilarious in the time i've posted this thread it's gone up £18 as well and was £799.99 last time I looked!Yeah then Zotac may be the better choice. The Inno3d cooler has plenty of unnecessary plastic which I removed from the 3070 Ti in order to help air flow out the main fin stack but buying the 3080 actually lowered the overall temps
All I see from named brands is a 3 year warranty and a £100 extra bill... Seem's pointless despite me usually vowing to stick with say ASUS etc... And seeing brands like Gigabyte blowing psus/graphics cards dying etc is very worrying to me!All trash tier, but at least Zotac offer a 5yr warranty.
Thanks for your input, that seems promising, yeah the 5 year warranty is definitely selling it to me... Especially now I've found out I can't future OC the Inno3D and OCUK have put it up £18 more since I posted this and that was already £29.99 up from last week...My only relevant experience is my Palit "Super Jetstream" 1080Ti. Solid card, cooler was very quiet and kept it under 72C under the heaviest loads I put on it, loved the card and it's new owner feels the same. For me, the card was right up there or better than the Asus, Gigabyte, Sapphire and MSI cards I've had from previous generations.
Only a sample size of 1, I'm afraid, but 100% happy.
When I was looking for a replacement, I was looking at Zotac for the 5 year warranty, but ended up going Gigabyte purely because Gibbo put up an offer that was too good to refuse.
No experience of Inno3d, I'm afraid.
Nice one! I'm for once (despite usually being a brand whore for ASUS etc) seriously sold on this considering the 5 year warranty vs 3 year on asus/gigabyte etc...Had plenty of Zotac cards over the years in builds for staff and customers, not had any issues with them
nice! pretty much for on them now for the warranty/peoples experiences!Zotac 2080Ti still going strong since launch in my kids PC. Only went for Zotac because of the 5 year warranty but the card has been as good as gold since day 1 with a fairly reasonable OC on the GPU and VRAM.
Yeah I reckon I'm sold now. Bang per buck vs warranty is untouchable!Zotac is tempting for the price and the 5 year warranty (remember to register it within 30 days!). I quite like the look of some of their designs too (compared to Inno3d/Palit etc).
They do have a bit of a reputation in recent years for being noisier than other brands, but I think that's more a design choice (chasing temps over decibels), rather than being an objectively bad cooler and can probably be overcome with a custom fan curve
