As the title, I really want some new hardware to play with but I just can't justify it at all. I mean I just play the odd game now and again, nothing current as I'm not into FPS war games or warcraft type games. I only burn the odd DVD now and again. but I've had my current system for nearly 8-9 years now I Think, so I'm getting bored of it a bit. If I did upgrade to newer kit I would have fun for a week or two having a little tinker in the bios, but after that it would be back to the same old some old lol.

My 670 clearly doesn't need upgrading to a 290X for the games I paly :( but why do I want one
 
Similar, my 4670k/16gb ram does well, then again it was an upgrade from a 3.0-3.4ghz 2180 and 4gb of ram.
 
I've got it bad atm, not so much hardware changes though I could do with upgrading my 780s to 980s...

I really fancy pulling my watercooling loop apart and redoing it but I promised myself no more changes to this rig for a minimum of four years. It may struggle towards the end but I can't keep buying a new rig every two years just because I get the itch.
 
Same here really :)

I've got a 2600k @ 4.5ghz, 8GB DDR3 @ 2133 and the smaller SSD is 120gb. I really want to swap the RAM for the bling factora nd get a bigger games SSD but I don't really need one :(
 
Waterloop for me when stuff comes back in stock,dont really need it. Just cause i can,and it will look good.

Also just dropped £160 on a new case and braided cables,didnt need them either lol
 
Yeah sometimes get the itch to upgrade something but just gonna wait it out, gonna get a second monitor instead.
 
Have the itch constantly. Mainly because I am bored at work. Although I do look at build logs and think that looks good an consider it haha
 
I have the itch to, but there is nothing worthwhile out atm to give me a big jump over my current hardware.
 
God I have this so bad :D Have a spreadsheet all filled out with that what I want from where. New case, RAM, GFX, CPU cooler, additional HDD, all new braided cables to match the colour scheme!

Best part of £600 allegedly :o pretty want to change everything bar CPU & Mobo

This! Been desperate to try crossfire for ages, but probably need to upgrade my 750W psu too then! would defo help with playing games in eyefinity thats what I keep telling my wife anyway :P
 
Me too, I bought a R9 290 bargain price which is enough to satisfy me for the moment £179 so not going to break the bank. I've been looking at the i5 haswells but with cpu/mobo/ram combo you're looking at £400+. Thats a lot especially when I don't actually need it right now.

I think part of the problem is looking at the same PC case for years and I'm bored rigid with it. Maybe a new case with a 240mm rad, the current is too small to do any proper overclocking without setting the thing on fire. Maybe one of those prebuilt watercooling loops as I'm too lazy to try and figure it out for myself. :o I think this may be the new toy I'm looking to play with.
