So who found Bioshock scarey.

Im playing it through for the 2nd time. Last time i played it was about september time last year and even though i can remember what happens in most places im actually finding it scarier this time round. A few moments already have made me jump and nearly pap myself.

I dont know if its because im paying it abit more attention but theres little things here and there which just make it that little bit extra creepy. It could be that im sitting here, all the lights off and my fatalities on nearly full blast.

Sorry if this thread is pointless, i just wanted to spend 2 minutes expresssing my appreciation that one last time.

Made me jump, that is about it.
Farcry made me jump far more, as did Unreal and HL1.

FEAR and Stalker were actually scary and made me nervous to go in rooms ingame at times :p (did though, completed both numerous times now)

System Shock 2 was scary...Had me so paranoid when I had the house to myself as a child and had to leave my bedroom at 5am to go to the toilet

Bioshock bored me to much to even care to be scared, played it for a hour or 2 then never bothered with it since

may try it soon tho now ive got a more up to date system, seen as im guessing im only one who found it boring

I must admit, the first time i played i found it abit boring too. I didnt even get to complete it. Suggestion, try it again with your newer system, everything whacked up and with the lights off.

Ive had to turn it off now because ive had enough frights for tonight. Honestly, i dont scare easily but theres just something about Bioshock the 2nd time round.

I've played an hour into it, and haven't found any reason to play it since- it just didn't seem to grab me.

I'll try again with it at some point I'm sure though.

I bought it last September and played a few hours and got bored. However, I decided I was going to play and finish it a few weeks back and I'm so glad I did - one of the best games I've played :)

I don't think the game was that scary. Dripping (no pun intended) with atmosphere and definitely creepy, but I don't think I was scared. I guess the splicer that tries to rip open your bathysphere at the start raised a few hairs, but that was about it :D

System Shock 2 was too intense for me. It gave me heart palpitations so I stopped playing it.

Fear I thought was scary as hell, really had me on edge at points.
As for bioshock, must say I havnt got round to playing it (or buying it for that matter)

It took me a couple of attempts to complete it too... It was a damn creepy game :)

I never got more than 20 minutes into it before I could feel my heart trying to escape through my chest... I considered that on this occasion I would rather keep my heart. :p

BioShock didn't really scare me.

However...

F.E.A.R, Condemned, Condemned 2, Silent Hill games, Siren: Blood Curse and a bunch of other games have scared me to the point that I haven't been able to complete them.

I remember muting F.E.A.R as I was going around corners in sheer...fear, god that game gave me the ****'s.

It's not so bad if you go back to it these days. It loses a lot of the creepiness factor due to the old graphics (though there are mods to improve them quite considerably). Just play it during the daytime with other people around...rather than at night, alone in the house, at 4am :p

Sorry for the random question - but I assume you're not the same PinkFloyd from Quake 3 (specifically, the P!SS instaunlagged clanserver).?

fear gave me the willies, until it became rather routine.

Doom3 made me take tea breaks, where I'd make an excuse of wanting a cuppa, when really I was giving my heart a rest :p

AvP is where the fear is though. Nothing ***** you up like the motion scanner beeping slightly faster, slightly faster, THEY'RE IN YOUR ******* FACE!
