Unlucky Spurs fans!

if it was the case that arsenal were behind it then they should be kicked out of next years CL regardless of winning it

Saying that, if it was a fan who did it by himself without Arsenal knowing about it, thats not their fault as they'res not a lot they can do about the actions of their fans

If arsenal were actually behind it tho, then thats a different matter and they should be severly punished

Spurs fans should be happy like most of the presenters said today, if you offered them 5th place and UEFA cup place at the start of the season they would have bitten your hand off for it.

I quite agree with you. I'm delighted that Spurs are back in Europe. I rekon they'll do better in the UEFA cup than they probably would have done if they'd managed to qualify for the CL.

I agree. Qualification for the CL starts only a couple of weeks after the World Cup. With so little rest, I can see it having a big effect on Liverpool and possibly Arsenal later on in the season.

Spurs have got to consistently get in the UEFA cup via the league for a few seasons before I think we can be serious about the Champions League.

Oh, and I think the hotel involved should be named and shamed. I highly doubt Arsenal football club masterminded the food poisoning, but I wouldn't put it past a desperate Arsenal-loving chef or waiter.

Didnt effect Liverpool much this season and they had to start from the 1st round (ie 6matches compared to the 2 they will have to play this season). You have to remember the standard of teams that they will have to play wont be amazingly high (as they will both be seeded). Although they will both know the importance to win, it will be treated like a pre-season friendly would.

That's no conselation though. They've been in pole position for that place for quite some weeks, and to lose out on it on the last day, to your closest rivals, is going to be bitter pill no matter how well you were doing. Looking back with a clear head yes, most fans would be more than happy with their league performance this season (I guess having less games really does help ;)), but you'd still be upset when you were so close to something better. Sunderland fans would be just as gutted on the day's results, although a tad happier on their overall position. ;)

And no, although I can understand how they might feel, I'm suprisingly not sympathetic towards them. :D

Can't believe people are suspicious of foul play. You make me laugh.

It's totally possible though. Millions of pounds at stake, and the NIGHT before the teams most important match they ALL get food poisoning - with no other cases. You've got to even be slightly suspicious, or at least find it ironic. If not then you make me laugh.
