I know many of us currently drive cars that are capable of what might be classed as supercar type performance so I was wondering who had driven a supercar, and how did it compare to other fast cars (but not supercars) that you'd driven? (ie modded Jap type motors or Cosworth powered Caterhams for instance)
The reason behind this is my choice of new car. Although I'm still set on getting a VX220 turbo I just thought I'd investigate 911s. On paper a stage 2 VXT is quicker to 100 than most 911's (I'm talking about the affordable "ordinary" 911's like a 1998 996 Carrera 2 , not the real monsters of course) but everyone I speak to raves about the performance of the ordinary 911s, how it's "real world fast". What is it about a supercar that makes people do that? It can't be down to performance as there are plenty of non-supercars with similar or even better performance. I'm sure most of us have seen various videos of turbo'd Corsas beating Ferraris for example.
