i never use 4th, if im comming into slip road i just accelerate in 3rd and stick it straight into 5th. slowing down to junction straight from 5th to 2nd then 1st if needed. if comming to roundabout ill put it into 3rd from 5th

Do I look attractive?

he probably means he just presses down the clutch pedal and brakes till an appropriate speed , you never know with this guy though

4th was broken on my leon for around 40,000 miles, so out of habbit i dont tent to use it much as i had to get used to missing it out :/

All the time. Sometimes I go 1st > 2nd > 4th > 6th. Or 1st > 3rd > 5th. Or...

Basically I skip gears quite a lot :p

I chop and change between various vehicles. Most have 5 gears, but my car has 4 and a VW tank thing has 6. I not so much don't use gears, but try and use ones that don't exist! The van I use the most has reverse where 6th is in the dub. Scares *** hell out of people behind me when I get carried away!

When I'm in laz-o-tronic mode I often do 1st 3rd 5th. Almost never skip gears on the way down though.

Why does his car have to be gutless to go from 5th to 2nd or be melting the clutch?

I didnt reliese he was holding the clutch in :o

I thought he ment he was engine braking which his clutch would hate that

Or going from 5th-2nd in a car with any kind of power can cause lock ups of the wheels

Block changing up makes the syncros work a lot harder, best avoided really.

I use all the gears when going up the box

Why would the engines power output matter though? i thought it would only matter if it was something that was slow to gain or lose RPM so long as you dont instantly let the clutch out but do it over a second or so.

The rover 220D that i drive does this and it only has 80ish BHp, let the clutch out in 2nd at any sort of speed and it tries to force feed you the steering wheel as it's like slamming the brakes on.
