I have had my PS3 for over 4 years, and only have one platinum trophy (plus hundreds of bronze and silver, and a few gold).

Also, I am ashamed to say that my one platinum trophy came from Resistance: Burning Skies on my Vita, and all that took was completing the campaign (took about 6 hours) and a few 'kill x number of this enemy' challenges.

I have about 30 PS3 games, 5 Vita games, 4 3DS games, and over 140 Steam games (plus about 10 non-steam games). My average Steam game completion is 16%.

Is there any hope for me? :p

I'm guessing there are people similar to me (apart from the super obsessed OCD people who complete everything 100% - I envy you a lot)

Edit: I am also considering getting PS Plus in preparation for my PS4 (and after seeing all the PS Plus threads on here recently!)

I used to 100% games religiously in previous generations (before we had achievements and such that is), had to find all the collectibles, see all endings, etc. but I just feel guilty doing that these days. My backlog is so colossal that I could very well cancel my PS4 preorder to work on it, and probably only be done in a year's time. Because of this I just feel bad spending so much time on one game, can't justify it when I have so many other games that need attention.

Nah don't think I have done it ever. I normally play the single player or mplayer with cod etc but never bother with the mental challenges to gain the trophy. I did try with Heavy Rain but got bored after a while. And on top of that I am not very good at games so playing on the mental difficulty levels only leads to some extremely frustrating evenings.

I find that trying to 100% a game usually ends up making it a chore so I don't bother. For me gaming is a fun past time and I only do it for the enjoyment, which does not include grinding at a game to get 100%

I'll go for it if it's fun, but I won't bother if it turns into too much of a grind. The last game I got 100% achievements on was Dark Souls on the PC. That took 3 playthroughs and a fair bit of grinding but I love the game so much it was enjoyable to do. I think over the life of the 360 I've only got 100% on about 25 games so it's not something I go for all the time.

Edit: My average gamerscore per game is around 46% I think so I do tend to get my monies worth out of each game I get.

I've 100% completed 16 games on the 360. It tends to be the MP player side of things that stop me getting more.

If the achievement is enjoyable, i'll go for it. If it is like the Seriously achievements in Gears, i'll leave it alone. No fun in reloading a checkpoint to kill 100,000 Locust

Hardly ever bother going for the trophies/achievements.

Most of the time they are not fun, but some games, such as Batman AA, I found the challenges quite enjoyable to achieve, especially the fight challenges.

Nope never. I don't like repeating things over and over (unless its MP or Fifa or something like that) as I find it ruins the whole thing for me.

Oh good well this has made me feel a little more 'normal'.

I am a sucker for the Humble Bundle and their weekly sales though. My Steam game collection has gone up by 30/40 since I discovered it

Edit: also Steam holiday sales proably coming up soon. Doh!

Only when A) The games is good enough to warrant it and B) When half the trophies/% isn't just 'Kill 5000 of x Enemy' or grind for hours to upgrade certain weapons. The only modern game I've gotten all the achievements for is Dark Souls and that was only because it could be done without much grinding through multiple playthroughs which I was more than happy to do. Other than that the only games I can remember 100% are the Crash Bandicoot games on PS1 and Spyro 1.

I've only ever gotten over 1000GS on one game and that was Bad Company 2. No platinums for me. I generally play through the story once (if it is good enough) then never play it again. I can't remember the last time I replayed a single player campaign.

Lego games.

100% in both Batmans, Harry Potter 1 and Pirates. 99.9% in Harry Potter 2 due to a bug preventing one final item appearing :(. When Marvel Superheros comes out I will 100% that too.

I have: Far Cry 3, NFS:HP, Sniper Elite V2 and Birds of Steel all to platinum so many other games nearly there.

pretty much this, plus i usually get bored before completing the story anyway, and a lot of games i simply just don't like after a mission or two.

have got a lot of games through psn+, theres only been a couple i have actually enjoyed and played all the missions.

Since release of the xbox and PS3 I have NONE, not one, i have a couple close and i should have one for BF1943 on xbox but it just wont ding up the final play so many matchs one for some reason i've never worked out.

Do i care? no, most games have some stupid "challenge" that puts me off, or "collectables" which also aren't fun. MP challanges annoy me ones that cause game breaking play more so.

If completing the story isnt enough to get 100% then im not going to get it.

I'm 86% on GTAV's completion list and wont get much further cause im not running around getting letters and ship parts, i just dont find that fun.
