I thought I start this thread as I searched the forum and could not find one for Abarth cars.
Please post if you own, owned, or would like to own an Abarth (including the 500, 595, Punto, 124 etc.)!

Everyone meet Adarth (the little brother of Darth, the 560ps Skoda Superb - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...0-a-sleepers-journey-280ps-to-560ps.18788428/ )

Plenty of photos of Adarth on my Instagram page, with updates to follow often:

I came very close to buying a 180 comp! I don't think you will get the same tunage from that as you did with the Superb though. They seem fairly high strung already.

It is already 230hp. They can do 300hp with a hybrid but I won't be going that way with this one.
It's about handling/fun and 230hp with less than 1000kg is already more entertaining than it should be :D

Must be an amazing little go-cart.

It's good fun indeed. The Quaife LSD and bilstein coilovers made a very big difference in handling and fun factor. And that was with the factory pirelli zero nero tyres that are not highly regarded. I just installed some pilot sport 4 tyres that I will try end of the month, after my holiday.

Love these!

Really think Fiat have nailed it, they made a proper true old school hot hatch!
- Small
- Lightweight
- Big power
- Huge fun
- Epic handling

It really is a massive change from the norm, even the hereos Renaultsport have lost their way somewhat with even their Clio now being quite large, a bit overweight and even an automatic paddle shifter, yes they have Twingo but it is too low on power and still weighs more than the Abarth.

Epic car, but I'd leave it at 230HP to be honest, give it more grip with stickier rubber, I'd be getting another set of wheels with some really sticky tyres like Nangang AR1.

Will try the pilot sport 4's first and maybe get some semi slicks for next summer

I am going AD08R for Clio as a good all round semi-slick as they are quite good in wet. R888R was an alternative, also good in wet with heat, but they are expensive and extremely noisy.
The other tyre is the AR1, it is near enough a slick, but still e-marked and legal I believe and as a summer dry only tyre should be nothing but incredible. :D

Nice! I've often considered one of these as a first track-toy car as I can make mistakes in it without it bending my ******** in to my face when I hit something.

I have a few questions, maybe you guys can answer (it probably won't be for a few years that I buy one of these, but it's good to know anyway rather than suffer the full Mal X syndrome):

Are the tires a common size, ie cheap and easily sourced? I don't want a car with unicorn's horn tires.
Having driven one, the seating position is rather high, do they feel top-heavy at all when pressed?
What are the maintenance and parts costs like?
Are they easy to work on, or do I need pencil fingers to access anything?

//I've genuinely considered either one of these or a Mini as a track toy, not sure which I'd go for to be honest but my main aim is fun, cheap (within reason, I'm well aware of the extra stress on components and stuff) and easily sourced parts. The thing with these two is you can have fun on any track, not just the ones with long straights.

I have the R888Rs on the Superb. Happy with them and don't mind the noise so it's an option. Will see next year. I am reading that due to the low weight the PS4s work very well on the 595 so let's see when I take you for a ride on the 15th :)

Tyres cheap and easy to find. Many specialists with low maintenance costs. Engine space is tight but manageable with knowledge and practice, see specialists comment above. Does not feel top heavy when lowered (springs are cheap) and I also installed a lowering bracket for the seat (combined with an extension for the steering wheel) that solved any seating issues for me (I am 6.1).

Awesome, thanks Mic. That's certainly removed a few doubts, I think I need to make sure I don't go near ebay tonight, especially after a few beers!
