Hi there, just a little thread to get some idea of who on here actually plays Project Reality...?

It's a BF2 mod which concentrates solely on Teamwork and Realism, just trying to gauge who would be interested in a new clan that a few from an old clan are starting up..

Were a group of mature players ranging from 21-40+ and we are now recruiting for ages 18+ :D

If you haven't yet checked this mod out get info here at www.realitymod.com or check us out at www.etuclan.co.uk

Hope to see you soon

I mostly hang around Battlearena, Al Basrah map, however, when I get sick of all the idiots I go play on some decent places like TG, iGi or maybe a spot of Datorbutiken.

Cool, same here, iGi is a good one

Well if you ever fancy it m8 we are recruiting active players so give us a look at the link in my sig :D

I'm looking to get back into it, starting tonight actually. Not looking to get recruited though, not just yet..

I'd just like to ask something while I'm here, what maps have attack choppers in? More specifically the Apache? Can you train offline as well? I think I remember someone telling me what map a chopper is on but nothing spawned offline. Cheers.

Tried it, wasnt a great fan of it.
Just to real for me really.
But i know that it is great mod, really well made and lots of thought gone into it, but just didnt appeal to me.
Mind due loved one of the forest maps, i wish that was in bf2 that be great, fun times on that.

Yep there is an offline mod with quickly spawning vehicles (some maps can bring your machine to a stand still with all the extra vehicles that spawn). You can download it here. I highly recommend that if you want to fly then you practice to a point where you are 100% confident with the handling of the machine. Reason you have to be because once you go on a life server you then have to learn how to respond to different situations and learning how to fly at this point is the last thing you want to be doing.

I had a case of a wanabe pilot this evening of a guy jumping into a chopper and once he got in the air saying, "lol this is my first time". Now I was hoping this was his first time after hours of practicing online but my spidey senses failed me. It was his first time flying, after he rolled a few times high in the air (chopper was full btw) did some turns realised he can't fly so he bailed out

He obviously lived since pilots are the only people who get parachutes but the other 7 guys in the chopper just crashed. I have seen plenty of other acts of stupidity from people who fancy themselves as pilots. It's a very big responsibility because a full crashed chopper can cost a lot of tickets to a team not to mention taking that machine out the action. That goes for any other asset down to a simply jeep.

The game experience very heavily depends on your squad, whole team and their teamwork. Prepare to be frustrated in this game and expect to achieve very little if you're playing lone wolf. However, at the time it can be difficult to find a good squad leader to so even following someone's order main not help if that person doesn't know what he is doing.

My xfire nick is neoboy14051987, add me and maybe we can get a game going I usually play after 6-7ish.

coolio, may see you on sometime, and to answer your question its battle for qinling 64 that has the apache, it also has the eurofighters on it too, very cool map, and kashan desert 32 has attack choppers too:D

Brilliant, exactly what I need. I created a lan game today on Kashan 32 (I think), I guessed that I might have to wait around for a while. Took me about 10 mins of fannying about 'till I could get in one.

I'm not too bad, I got really good in BF2, these will take some getting used to though.

Will add you tomorrow if I'm in, cheers :)

Many thanks :) What's the appache like? Does it actually fly any different to the eurofighters?

Yeah just remember that pretty much all the helicopters handle differently and what you can do in one can end up you going nose down into the ground in another.

Yeh i am on most sat nights under my name here. I played a lot of BF1942, then Vietnam then BF2 and once I got sick of that I looked for a mod. Id never modded a game before so was unsure what was the story with it all but I thing I choose Reality from a post on here about 1 year ago (version 7?). I hade never used a mic as it seemed embarrassing shouting at the screen but I soon found out you need one for the game and as soon as I plugged mine in it opened up online game play a lot.

I try and get on the TG server as it seems the best, but does from time to time have no real team work on the go. I also try and write down squad members names that I thought were really good players and try and look out for them when I join a game. Some nights i am on for about 2-3 hours not really enjoying it and others I get into a squad that works well and stay on as long as my eyes stay open.

One thing that really annoys me, worse than a none communicating squad, is a squad leader who seems to blame its members when things don’t go well but doesn’t give any instructions to them. (Always seems to be those from across the pond). Yet last night I was a server and some American guy was laid back, but gave clear instructions to what he wanted us to do and it made the game so more enjoyable.

I am not sure what role you play when joining a CLAN. Its something I have stayed away from in the past, thinking it requires being online a certain times to play matches with other teams. Is this true? This is too much commitment for me as I might be online some nights and not others. But if it involves squading up with fellow clan members then I have no problem with that.

Well the Apache is an attack chopper and the eurofighter is a jet so... :D plus try out The Battle for Qinling 64 man and youll get the Apache :D

A clan offers whatever you want it to offer m8, we have an active PR server and a lot of very committed players so matches wont be a problem, but if you decide you can one time the option is there :D

Lol, I don't even remember typing Eurofighter, I meant the Cobra. I just gave it a go anyway, they seem fairly similar.

Just had a brilliant game with a great squad. I used to play ages ago and stopped, I really don't remember why.
