Who is this band?... V-Festival & TinthePark

For our college day theres a 'secret headline act', the only clues as to who they are are that...

They are a multi-million album selling band, these label mates of Coldplay have many festivals under their belts and have sold out the Royal Albert Hall. They are confirmed as playing on the Main Stage at this year’s V Festival and T in the Park. Any guesses? Our headliner takes to the Sol Main Stage at 10:00pm.

The only similarities between T in the Park and V this year are Hard-Fi and The Magic Numbers, although neither share Coldplays record label (according to wikipedia) and Google says that the Magic Numbers supported Franz Ferdinand at the Royal Albert hall...

...so, any other ideas as to who the 'secret act' could possibly be? Thanks :) Alex

I cant find anyone matching up to all this. First thought that came to my mind was radiohead, but then i cant see them playin at a college, and theyre not playing t in the park :(
 
Radiohead, Athlete and The Divine Comedy are the only bands that spring to mind that are on the same label as Coldplay.

Unless of course they mean EMI or Capitol Records instead of Parlophone.

If that is the case, then the answer is The Magic Numbers. Since EMI own both Parlophone and Capitol Records and Capitol Records puts out Coldplays records everywhere in the world except the UK and EMI/Heavenly have The Magic Numbers.

The link is a bit tense, but since EMI owns every label mentioned above, it's probably a safe bet to say The Magic Numbers.
