There was a huge thread about newsgroups and there was some nice info in it about which provider various people used.

The thread seems to have disappeared so assume it descended into illegal stuff.

Can we have a discussion about who you all use as a provider? I had been using Astraweb but their decision to change payment methods means my account was suspended. After hearing horror stories of incomplete files i wish to change providers.

So who do you use for your linux iso's and what plans / prices are you paying.
Also do you see many incomplete files?

Rightly or wrongly people will assume that your 'linux iso's' line is a way of keeping something open when it had previously been closed.

e : an observation, nothing more as I don't care who does what.

I switched from astraweb to supernews over a year ago now due to incompletes. At the time I went onto their SUPER-UNL-SSL-B package that gives you 30 connections with no dl limits and ssl this was for $11.99 now it seems you can get the same for $9.99 https://www.supernews.com/signup/?account=SUPER-UNL-SSL-C
It is just a resold giganews service so speed etc is good although some level of removed files is to be expected.

I would guess there was a reason the other thread on this was deleted.

All linux isos can be downloaded free of charge why would you pat £7-8 per month to do this?

Went back to Astraweb today, I was on Tweatnews.eu but it wasn't maxing out my connection. Any incompletes, I will buy in blocks from Tweaknews.

The whole reason the thread was deleted was because the first rule about usenet is you dont talk about it!

Use google
