who makes the ocuk psus

He has 60 quid so he can get something good for that as he is only powering an e6400 on an asus nvidia 650 chipset thing with an 8800gtx. Hi sold psu was some sort grey box oem nasty thing U get (winpower springs to mind)
 
For the Antec TP-550, 540W on 12V means a lot of power for CPU and GPU, which is what you want in a gaming rig.

Here's a review for the OCZ ZS 650W.

The Antec is solid.

Here's a review of the XFX 550W.

Tell your friend it will be £60 well spent from any of those. They will deliver lots of power for any reasonable GPU (I would go up to a 570, with some generous headroom left), safely, efficiently, and quietly (all relative :)).

You need more power for SLI / XFire, and also 4 PCIE connectors.

Well to answer the original question, the brand always seems to differ. The ink time I would buy one is if it's a really really low powered system.
