Hey guys:D

Does anyone here play their 360 on a CRT monitor using the VGA cable? I will be doing this when my 360 comes, on my 19" crt monitor (max res 1600x1200) NOT widescreen:(.

Can anyone post up some pics, would be interested to see how it looks on a crt monitor.

Thanks.

Wont look half as good as it would on a HD LCD screen tbh, i used my 360 for a few weeks on my 32" sony TV and it was ok-ish but compared to my 32" LCD...its got nothing on it tbh.

The prices of HD LCDS are coming down now...can pick up a 26" for next to nothing nowadays.

Unfortunately i can't afford a HDTV even if prices are dropping, so i'm stuck with the crt or a 14" tv.

Monitors are HD, and progressive scan. They are just not wide screen.

So its a good intrum solution. I will be using a monitor until I can afford a HD telly. (I was using a 32" CRT telly and the monitor, whilst not being the right shape, is a step up from the telly)

Yes I do when I get kicked out of the living room, spawn seems to have missed you have a CRT 'Monitor' not a TV, so thats rubbish.
The 360 looks perfect on a CRT monitor, when I go back to the HD LCD the first thing I notice is that it is brighter and colours are more vibrant due to the technology, but is that better ? its a matter of taste, you decide.
There are a few people around who prefer the VGA CRT image.
My CRT monitor looks more natural, the only disadvantage is screen size, but it does keep the aspect ratio.

have you seen the new samsung white lcd's. they look awesome my brother is getting a 23" for about £400.

i bought my hd lcd (intentionally) before i got my 360, so that i wouldnt have to suffer with poor image quality any more. i did plug it into the scart to have a look at the quality difference, i didnt bother carrying on once it got to the dashboard. following this i dont think i would ever be happy playing on anything else.

You can get a 32inch samsung for £550 or less! might as well go the extra 150 for 9 more inchs

Played it for a week on a very good CRT..

Now have a HDTV & a larger credit card bill  The praise is justified!

How does it look on a CRT monitor, better than a SD TV would you say? Even if the CRT is not widescreen?

I used to play on a crt and its a good cheap solution. Your'll have black bars but 19" or larger is ok if your using a wired controller anyway and sitting fairly close.

I keep reading plasma is better then lcd anyway, they are probably both better then crt but crt is definetly HD, its not a massive gap like a normal tv would be

Yep i run mine through my 19" CRT and the joytech VGA lead. Never had any problems with any games 360 or original xbox not being displayed properly.

What resolution do you run yours at? I was wondering if Microsoft would ever implement a 4:3 aspect ratio ;)

Im running my 360 on my PC's iiyama Vision Master Pr 454 through a JoyTech VGA, it can be abit annoying with fiddling with settings when switching between the 2 but its a nice set up as i have no need for a second monitor/tv for the 360 and the higher definition over a standard TV is quite a lot.

Im also holding out on a HD TV, as when i do buy one it will be 26" and need to be able to be used for my PC 360 TV DVD and if PS3 prices become reasonable for that, would also love to get a a TRUE HD LCD but there's no sign of any them in this country apart from 1 or 2 which are extremely high priced.

If anyone eles has a iiyama Vision Master Pro 454 could you tell me which resolution you use out of interest.

I've recently gone back to my old 17" cheap CRT monitor from a 26" widescreen LCD. Whilst its obviosly not as good it is still very impressive. With a decent CRT I think it would look great. LOADS better than a 14" standard def TV.

it should look good regardless. a crt is a high def display

you'll just get black bars top and bottom if its not widescreen
