Shame you coudlnt get any closer 'bum tish'

Its a nice shot, but I find the composition a bit funny/difficult to look at, thats probarbly just me though.

King.

EDIT: Elaborating on the above. When I look at it, my eyes dont know where to start, as if they are lost. Maybe its becasue its not centred and its slightly off the rule of thirds. Hopefully somebody will now what I mean...

Very nice shot as far as sharpness and colour goes, but i think the subject is too close to the top of the frame. If it had some space to look into it would be much easier to look at :)

Have to say, IMHO, I like the composition; my eye is immediately drawn to the purple flower, then up along the proboscis to the moth itself.

In contrast to the comment about the subject being too near the top, I'd perhaps have cropped it a bit more so the flower head is at the centre of the top left cross of an imaginary Rule of Thirds grid, if that makes any sense? Though I do tend to be a bit on the crop-happy side!!

I'm intrigued by the logistics of the shot, 'cos my macro attempts are always hampered by the blasted subject buzzing off about 1/2s before I hit the shutter. How long did you have to wait to get the shot?

I didn't have to wait for the shot at all, the wee fella was jumping about a clump of thistles so I managed to get about a dozen shots from different angles before I left him to it.
