Well I am very lucky to not be seriously ill in hospital right now, I bought a glass bottle of Orange Juice from Spar Premier and got the the bottom of the bottle and I was about to drink the last bit and heard a rattle.

At first I thought it was ice since my fridge is quite cold but I poured it out into another glass and to my horror it is a huge chunk of razer sharp broken glass.

I am worried that there could have been very small bits of glass that I drank but I feel fine and Im guessing I wont be able to prove it unless I get ill or whatever.

Usually there’s an address to write to on the packaging.

Alternatively @ them on twitter.

You should complain tbh, could be other bits of glass in other cartons.

i think they make them themselves, they asked if I could bring back the bottle so they could reuse it.

there is no info on the bottle at all and the top just says to keep in a fridge and it has the use by date

Because people have a habit of using an internet forum to answer question(s) they could answer themselves, if they bothered to engage their brain and use an ounce of effort on their part.

It tells you on the label how to complain about quality of the product. It's literally right on the packet / label of every single food product in the UK.

As such, it suggests the OP did not create the thread to ask "how do I complain about this" but to get attention of fellow forum members.

Also a forum is for discussions, not spoon-feeding lazy individuals the answer to an obvious question which everyone should already know the answer to, all they needed to do was read the damn label on the bottle.

Well that is where you are wrong, I photographed the bottle. Where do you see a label, its a plain glass bottle. The silver top just has a date on it
there is no label on the bottle and its an exceptional circumstance involving a very serious health hazard.

I asked here due to the serious nature of it and respecting that there are people on this forum that know way more than me about dealing with matters.

Please dont make replies like this to people, im not lazy and im not looking for attention from you or anyone else.

This thread reminds me of that thread a few years back where some complete wally asked whether he should complain to Asda about some dodgy birthday candles he bought

well i think glass shards in a drink is very serious personally

and i have now been in touch with the correct department of my local council after to advice from forum members

i know i could have complained to Spar and got a £5 voucher or whatever they would have given me but i thought this was far more serious and i just thought it was worth asking here

glass shards could have seriously damaged my health, i dont make threads about trivial complaints

Just to update, my local council who i emailed yesterday has got back to me today and said the matter has been sent to environmental health for investigation.

Thanks to anyone who tried to help, i think the right people have been informed now.

Interestingly a google search for the shop today says they are permanently closed. I do not recall seeing that yesterday when i did the same search to get their address.

This place is horrible at times, it's why I use Facebook with only the people I want to socialise with so I don't get the crap you get on here sometimes.

You have to stay calm, some of them are trying to bait you into an exchange that does not end well for your forum membership lol

link please?

it was my mistake, i thought it was a Spar shop and it used to be one but has now been taken over by Premier.

so in google it shows as closed when you search it as a Spar store.

I went to the store today and it was open but the product was no longer on the shelves.

I have reported it to Premier HQ now so i expect they will be in touch in the next couple of days.
