Yes there are many rumours for a 2013 release date for GTA5. Yet i'm still pretty sure it will be 2012. No idea why? But 5 years from 2007, and the Rage engine being used on Max Payne.... Does it point to 2012? I'd say yes. Yet maybye the likes of FC3 and Bioshock being delayed until 2013 points at a 2012 release date for GTA5 in time for christmas?
 
Has GTA ever launched on a last gen console? That's what it could be doing if it's not out before 2014. It's GTA so they can do what they want and it wouldn't be a disaster, wouldn't be smart though.

They've said it won't be released on the likes of PS4, 720 etc
 
In my opinion it's going to be released in May next year, RDR was released in May, Max Payne 3 came out in May, L.A Noire was released in May and GTA IV came out at the end of April.
 
I reckon Ubi/EA would flip if R* released it at xmas! Can't wait for GTA5 I hope for a release at least before next summer.
Anybody care to guess if GTA5 will shift an unprecedented amount of copies or if the series has peaked already?

Well there are a lot more 360s and PS3s out there now than there was in 2008, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect it to easily surpass GTA4's sales. :)

Gta4 was a Bit of a disappointment after san Andreas (one of the greatest gtas ever) gta5 will need to return to gta routes for the purists. Like you said though theres more consoles out there now and parents don't care for age restrictions anymore so it's bound to outsell gta4, gta is one of the biggest multiplatform franchises after all

GTA 4 was good but limited, Ballard of gay tony was fun and a lot better. I hope that GTAV will NE much more fun. I still think Rockstar might surprise us.... However the question is When?
