Who to go with for broadband?

Hey all.
I currently live with parents but <4 weeks I move to Longton in Stoke, postcode ST3.

I have always sorted out the broadband but parents paid so we stayed with AOL. 8mb is crap.

I want a provider who does not throttle, with a good overall speed.

I have no landline as stands. I don't really want one if I can help it.

You will have to get a landline and pay line rental unless you're able to receive Virgin Media's cable modem service.

It seems to be the case.
Broadband speeds are rubbish - They expect me to get around 4mb speeds as I am far from the exchange.

I've gone with PlusNet with weekend calls.
