Who uses colours boost?

I use a 24" AOC Full HD monitor for Xbox 360 gaming. I have been tweeking my monitor lately and I noticed a setting on my monitor called colour boost.

I don't know anything technical about monitors so I'm not quite sure how it works, however when I set it to auto the colors seem much more vibrant and if I switch back to default, eventhing looks quite washed out.

I looked at the AOC site and it said this about color boost when it's set on auto and full.

Auto Detect: When “Auto Detect” is turned on, every pigment will be detected and self-adjusted to render a lively picture.

Full Enhance: When "Full Enhance" is turned on, the color saturation of the entire screen is fully enriched, thus all colors become more vibrant.

There are other settings for it such as 'Green field, sky blue' etc etc.

Which would be the best setting for gaming? Auto or Full enhance?

Is there any reason at all not to have colour boost on at all?

Cheers

It sounds like the HDMI deep colour setting, if the monitor supports it. Personally I'd see what colour setting looks the most natural in windows etc (this is how I tuned my tv personally) and then use the same mode on the console. Auto detect in your case is probably the best bet but its hard to say for certain either way due to not being able to see it.

Thanks for the reply, I use a VGA cable though, not HDMI. Not sure if it matters. As I said in a previous thread before I guess it's just what looks best to me.

With default settings the colors look really washed out compared to when color boost is on.
