Who wants Speed?

Am I right in thinking the higher the bottom score the better? Because I can’t figure out why I’m getting a better score when using XP 32bit OS than I do with Win 7 64 bit. :confused:

The Boot time is much the same with both Win XP & Win 7 at 11 seconds, measured with Bootracer

System i5 64
Crucial 128 Gb SSD

OMG its food time for me.

Are you installing chipset drivers correctly, or even at all?

Maybe you have prefetch, disk caching, superfetch, etc.. enabled in Windows 7 that Windows XP doesnt have hence the speed disparity.

After installing the OS the Gigabyte mobo disk installs all other necessary chipset drivers, I just install what it tells me.

After which I install AV followed by Express Windows updates. TBH its totally beyond me.

All of those could slow down the SSD if its a fresh install Windows will be trying to index the drive.

Download the latest drivers from the gigabyte website.

It may increase the performance.
