So as many of you aware, we were able to play BF2 up until last year when the revive project shut down, well I thought now was a good a time as any to show everyone this due to some of the nostalgia flying around and the recent disappointment for many with BF5. It's called BF2 hub and basically it acts as the main server to support the server browser etc, similar to what Gamespy server did back in the day before it shut down.

Here are the instructions,


Download BF2 again either via Steam, CD, Origin etc.

Go to: https://www.bf2hub.com/home/ Download the Client

Create an account on that site (YOU MUST USE THAT ACCOUNT TO PLAY ONLINE)

After installing sign in with your account and congrats.

This "mod" or client revives online gaming again.

There are around 30-40 servers live atm and getting in a game is quite easy

I've just played two hours today of a mix of karkand and Fushee pass. Let me tell you the nostalgia is epic, :cool:

If we can get enough of an interest and playerbase from here I may look at purchasing / setting up an OcUK Battlefield 2 server?

Is this any different to BF2 revive (if that's what it's called)?

Wish it had better graphics. Not to put this thread on a downer but it has not aged well at all.

Still gonna give it a blast though.
 
Anyone know where I can get another copy of BF2 for my friend? Just recently enlightened him to the wonders of PC and since he still can't comprehend how BF has went downhill ever since it was introduced to consoles I want to show him BF2 and play with him. But doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere.

As wonderful as this is, and as great as BF2 was. I’m not sure I can go back to it, somethings are best left in the past.

To anyone that’s played BF2 recently, does it still hold up? Can you see yourself putting another 500+ hours into it?

Yes I played four hours solid the other day it's still brilliant
 
Just fired it up, created myself again (this is where my forum name came from) and got my old 3 star account back!. :D

Subbed. I'm so in. Just had a quick game on a south american server, killed a few guys. Boom!
 
Never did play bf2 but did use bfbc2 recently to show a mate how good the games were. He purchased it instantly and we have spent a bit of time on it now. Might see if I can get hold of a copy of this to try!
