Who was more dangerous?

I certainly don't condone dangerous driving, but viewing this clip i wonder who was avtually more dangerous?
The accused or the Police?

The first attempt at stopping him nearly causes him to veer into oncoming traffic.
The final attempt, there are still vehicles around, plus it looks like they then hit the driver.

Not suggesting he should get away with it, but were these actions justified?
 
For the fact in trying to stop him they nearly caused a head on accident.
Admittedly they don't show enough of the chase to show how dangerous his driving was, but purely on speeding (which is what he was convicted for), I question that those tactics at that point were safe.

The police car that hit him seemed slightly out of control or desperate too.
 
The first attempt to stop him looked very dodgy, nearly involving the car in front and, if it hadn't been for the actions of the oncoming driver, a head on crash.

I quite enjoyed the bit where she rammed the driver.
 
Shame they didn't hit him a bit harder. Anyone who fails to stop for police and speeds off like that should have a mandatory custodial sentence added to any other punishment they get. Right now there seems to be no deterent for it and when you hear the sentences on traffic cops etc the car chase seems to almost be overlooked.
 
The guy was driving like an absolute ****, it was a matter of time until he wiped somebody out with yet another ridiculous overtake.

Not really...

2 x Dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, failing to stop for police, refusing a breath specimen, possessing cannabis.
 
1st attempt looked dangerous and half arsed, should have either waited for the 2nd attempt or gone all out, half stopping him nearly drove him into the car in front.

On another note this is more like the US with police ramming cars to stop them, UK normally boxes them in and slows them down i thought.

Also surprising driver didn't appear to need to ask for authorisation to damage his police car, especially in the current climate of cuts, surely damage must be taken pretty seriously due to costs.

Sounded like the police driver was a bit shook up by seeing the last near miss and decided to end it of their own volition before someone innocent got hurt.

I'm always in 2 minds over these chases because if the person is going to drive like a loon (and subsequent events proved in this case he would continue to do so) ending in something tragic happening and the police could have stopped them but didn't thats not an ideal outcome either.
 
The first incident was a close call, sure, but however half arsed to us armchair experts, I'm sure the officer behind the wheel was doing his best under trying conditions.

The alternative is to let the half breed carry on until he ultimately wipes somebody out regardless.

Questioning the justification of the officers actions, given how the thief was driving, surprises me!
 
The oncoming car in the first attempt was already moving out the way into the layby/junction. The police did the right thing throughout the clip.
