Too rich for my blood this time. I'll be waiting to see if Vega offers a nice boost from my 980ti at a lower price. If not, I'll be staying with it.

I upgraded to a 1070 in the summer which should be fine for a few years, not sure I could've held on till now for the TI. Next project will be to replace my aging (but glorious) 2500k :p

It's a Zotac AMP (non extreme), so not the actual clown cooler but contrary to reviews it performs like a clown cooler.
Maybe a bad chip, or maybe the cooler is not on properly. Inevitably someone will end up with the bad chips right :(

I need to see the true price and the true performance but potentially yes a 1080Ti is looking likely if Jensen Jacket speak truth. I can't wait for Vega if all AMD are going to do is dodge the important topics of performance/price/availability

I'll be getting one. I'm on an X34, and whilst my Titan has served me well for the past couple of years, the performance gap is enough for me to justify it this time around.

More than happy with my 1070 which I'm not using anywhere near it's capacity as yet.

I tend to buy the card below top of the range as IMO it often gives best value for money. I expect to get 3 years out of any card I buy.

I do, however, wish I'd waited until now as it'll be interesting to see how much the vanilla 1080 drops

I've got two and they're both very similar, the other (in the wife's build) has a little headroom. From a visual check the paste appears to be evenly applied, but I've not repasted as it voids the warranty on Zotac cards.

I see. I had the AMP extreme which overclocked and cooled very well. Had people telling me when selling it there was not much difference between it and other 1070's, clearly not the case. In the end I got what I wanted for my card though :p

Freesync or I would :(
Be strong little one, Vega will be coming soon. If it sucks (doubtful) just sell your monitor and pay nvidia their g-sync tax and then buy a 1080Ti. Just think, you are already getting Titan XP performance for nearly half the price, big saving there mr leather jacket is so generously giving you :p
