Those who will be getting one.... FE or waiting for a custom card? I am undecided personally but tempted to go back to water again but not sure I can be bothered to do another custom loop. I will decide nearer the time but what are you guys getting?

FE as I already run a custom loop and it'll be slot the 980ti out and 1080ti in. If your not fussed on going full custom what about the EK Predator range?

EVGA 1080 FE's unless they have a cheaper reference card up at the time like the superclock. both watercooled.

look forward to new shiny shiny. I plan to keep them until the next Ti (hopefully :D)

As above predator 240 or hybrid card Greg if your not wanting the hassle of custom loop again.

Yer, makes perfect sense in your case to grab the FE.

Shiny is good. I really wanted to hold off til Volta but I have my PC fund that covers the cost of a Ti and enough to buy the Wife a new Handbag, so all gravy here. I am leaning toward Gigabyte again, as the G1 has performed really well for me and saves me having to WC.... Hopefully Volta is a ways off though, so I have time to save again :D

Waiting to see what Evga offer with the classified I.C.X upgrade which is still yet to be announced, came with a reset step up option for the other cards. Wait and see what they offer, hopefully an option to bypass the upgrade and step up to a 1080ti at a reasonable price.

Best of both worlds then :D. Handbag for the wife while a Ti is on its way.

I saw the G1 and it looked a cracking card for the price. Would be tempted myself if they had custom cards and blocks on release.

I too was hoping to wait until Volta but the Ti would really be nice in quite a few games I've been playing.

I suspect the FE on air will be just as disappointing as the Titan xp is on air. It really restricts the top boost. With a decent AIB cooler or a waterblock it should do 2.1Ghz. Ive seen my titan throttle to under 1800 with its pathetic cooler.

So you can be missing out on 10 to 20% of the extra performance.

I won't be water cooling, so it really depends on whether the improvements nVidia claim they've made to the cooler make much of a difference.

Interesting to see so meny waiting on VEGA smart choice. For Nvidia to release the 1080ti at a "Cut Price" and also faster than the top tier GPU "Titan XP" YOu would think Nvidia has some inside information about VEGA performance! They didn't need to cut prices on the 1080 if they was confident enough the VEGA was a poor show.

The biggest news I take from this event and very happy with is all DX12 GPUs will now support GPU based PhysX or GameWorks About bloody time Nvidia. Now get of the high horse and enable Adaptive-sync for all your user base :D

You said this in the other thread earlier and it's just rubbish to be honest, they're cutting the 1080 price as it's been out nearly a year and they need to fit the 1080ti in just above what the 1080 went for to amass a load of sales again.

Seen posts like this the last few releases where people think nVidia cutting pricing means AMD are gonna smash them and it never happens.

Your sig is the best ever 10/10 IGN :D

Anyway I can't wait to see how well this card performs vs the Titan XP - I wonder how much the used Titan XP's will go for ?

I will definitely be getting a 1080Ti my old 980Ti has served me very very well... and indeed I will put in my son's PC that will be a nice upgrade for him too moving from a 780Ti

1080Ti looks like a beast of an upgrade for me.

My only dilemma is whether or not to go for the Founders edition or wait for the AIB cards? "I have always went AIB" but I really like the look of that stock cooler blowing hot air out... Not dumping it the case - not that I have ever had a issue with that. But I have always wondered if I would get better temps with a blower.

Granted £650+ is a lot of money to test... should or shouldn't I go for the stock blower "that's party why I always went MSI/EVGA AIB"

Any advice from the Guru's on this dilemma please.

TBF, if nvidia didn't release the 980ti or at least didn't release it at the price they did, the fury x would have been more impressive then.

People think they are getting a great deal because nvidia have a halo product of similar/slightly less performance costing considerably more. Even if the 1080ti was priced at £800, people would have been saying amazing deal etc. and if there was no "halo" product in the first place, I be willing to bet that we would be seeing more comments along the lines of "crazy money" heck if their halo product was costing £2000, people would be creaming themselves even more :D

Honestly, I'm surprised that nvidia have priced it so aggressively so to me, this says they either don't know about vega but after ryzen are worried or/and know that it will be a lot better than what many are expecting.

It's a bit like what happened with ryzen, people thought it was going to be a flop, it wasn't and intel are now cutting their prices across the board.

EDIT:

Also, I think everyone should wait and see the price for the UK first, don't forget brexit, VAT, etc. etc.
