Who will use this computer?

Recently I've had to reinstall XP Pro onto several Dell PCs.

I’ve found the “Who will use this computer?” step to be really annoying. These machines will end up on a Domain and I don’t really want any local accounts apart from Administrator.

These reinstalls are happening offsite so there’s no direct access to the Domain.

Am I missing something obvious that would allow me to skip this step?

Just stick a name in, then delete the user account. It'll be a <30 second process.

You used to be able to type Unknown and it would just log you in as the Administrator and not create another account. I know this changed on one of the service packs - but worth a go.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I’ll just continue creating dummy users and then deleting them. There aren’t enough machines involved to worry about it too much.

bledd, thanks for both links.

I'm using Dell OEM XP Pro SP3 media. I may try burning myself a copy with the necessary tweaks to winnt.sif.
