A low speed desktop Quad range?

I would, I think Intel should bring out something like the following, with G0 steppings :D

Say:
Q6300 @ 1.8Ghz
Q6400 @ 2.1Ghz

Im pretty sure they where planning on bringing out a Q6400 some time but I dont think they bothered.

Here it is.

Seems they just decided to leave it in the end.

Well the Xeon X3210 is basically a Q6400.

Still too much money tho.

I know it is, thats why I said "Desktop" to fit into the range.

Shame about that Q6400, would be even better now if it was a low power G0 stepping 1333 FSB version :) Or a Q6300 with a similar.

Even a lower cache version for even less money, lets face it for desktop stuff you could go for a Q2XXX or Q4XXX model and not lose much over the big cache versions.

Well, that depends where you're buying them from, surely?
True. But there's still only about 20 quid of a difference between them if you go hunting for the cheapest of each.

Tho your hunting skills are probably a damn sight superior to mine.

DOnt the xeons overclock really well?

Also. There is infact no difference between the price between the Q6600 go and that xeon 2.13 i think it was. Well... i say no more ;)
