I was deciding whether to get some of this or any of the other hippyish type of peanut butters on the shelves like Meridian, but they all have a vaguely unappetising pale colour. So I bought my usual Sunpat crunchy. Has anyone bought these alternative peanut butters with sunflower seeds and hi oleic peanuts and do they taste good? They seem to have slightly less fat and sugar content.

Lupis, Whole Earth is palm oil free.

Nearly bought a jar of Meridian crunchy but ended up with Whole Earth. Will give it a whirl!

I finished the Whole Earth and have bought a jar of Meridian. The Meridian is very loose with lots of small crunchy pieces of peanuts. It all looks like bottled vomit.

I did a side by side taste test. Whole Earth v Meridian.

And the winner IS......

Meridian. :) It has a nicer, perhaps milder taste than Whole Earth.

I gave up on the healthier nut butters. Tomorrow I'm going to go buy some M&S crunchy PB. I've read a few shootouts, and M&S came top twice. But there's also one called Manilife. Has anyone tried it? It's also come tops twice. It's made with deep roasted Argentinian peanuts, contains no palm oil or sugar and is apparently a taste explosion/tastes incredible. Pretty expensive though. I suspect I'll enjoy the M&S one more though.

I use to like the Whole Earth stuff but now prefer the Tesco 100% stuff myself. Will try some of that Aldi stuff though next time I go in. Their Almond Butter is also a good price too.

Meridian Cashew Nut Butter is also amazing too, buy that very occasionally.

If you get the Aldi peanut butter, they do a cheap one in a plastic container which you don't want, and this one in a glass jar with a gold lid.

Good job mid gen. What was the bag weight and cost of the unroasted peanuts? Interested how many equivalent shop bought jars of peanut butter that lot would give you and how long did you roast them for? What model is your Magimix?
