My 360 just fell over while playing Forza 2, all was well for about 5 seconds, then this almighty noise screeched out, it sounded like the disk was going to cut it's way out the drive!

The disk was absolutely trashed and has undergone 3 toothpaste treatments to try and take the scratch out, currently I'm doing a 4th as the game still locked up when doing certain things.

Is there any other household type things that can remove the scratch? Only bought the game last Sunday and I'm gutted. :(

Oh, and, I'm going to assume that the disk art of the rental copies would be the same, minus the "Limited Collectors Edition" part?

Ta chaps and chapesses. :)

Well, I just did 4 laps of Suzuka (The track it was stuck loading before) and all seems fine after the 4th toothpaste application was taken off.

Loading times have increased, but that's only a small inconvenience. Let's hope it stays that working. *Crosses fingers*

Thanks very much for the advice guys, very much appreciated, as always. :)

Admit it, you got angry and hoy'd your controller in a random direction at the wall and it knocked your xbox over...
;)

If only. :p

360 is carefully balanced against the fridge cupboard on top of the power brick, launching the control at the wall would either take out my monitor, a microwave or several windows.

i took my scratched forza 2 to block busters and busted it even more..

Doesn't that strike you as being somewhat "wrong"?

I tried doing a bit of research on the subject in the OP, no one replied to that particular question until then though. :)

Looks like I might have to do that though, the 360 may have fallen over again and left an even bigger scratch on it. :/

Bottom scratch was the first, 2nd the top. Excuse the webcam quality. :p

Do the honest thing and rent a copy from somewhere and swap the discs over. :)

The honest thing, hah, I love it. :p

Got what I think is the 6th application of toothpaste on it now, if that doesn't fix it I'm off down town tomorrow to buy some toothpaste and to do the honest thing. :p

So, after you've seen the picture, is it worth the £2 to try and get the blockbuster disk cleaner to do it?

My housemate seems somewhat skeptical to the other plan, being his card and all. :p

Yeah. Tell them specifically to put it through a full 12 minute (i think its 12 minute) repair and not a stupid 3 minute one as they arent up to much :) They do work pretty well, but id recommend giving a local store a ring first as not all stores have them, we had one for a month but got it taken off us.

Ze local one is quite small, so I guess the chances of it having one would be slim?

Ta for all ze help guys. You too Usel, don't have any of those in stock though. :(

Use a banana.

The inside of the skin, nice and oil/waxy, rub on, and buff off.

Interesting.. Out of Bananas though, I enjoyed the last earlier this morning, got apple, pear or orange left. :)

To be honest it seems to be the small stores getting them as they are used to repair rentals, and the small stores get the least copies of DVDs so they get the repairers.

Ta, will take a detour on the way home from college tomorrow I think, no harm in a bit of walking. :p
