Would just like to know if your going for the Ultimate Vista edition and why?

Do you really need it or are you getting it because its the best version out?

Already got and installed on 2 machines. MSDN is a wonderful thing.

I don't recommend *upgrading* - much better to do a clean install, I upgraded both my pc's and then rebuilt a week later.

I'm getting ultimate, basically because I run on a domain and so need to be able to log onto a domain, also use remote desktop a lot and as I have a 360 I will need to use the media centre for streaming. I'm going to get the OEM version, although I'm currently running it on a 30 day evaluation so that I can figure out what software it likes and what it doesn't.

I've ordered Ultimate 64-Bit OEM.

Can't really be sure why, I don't use all of the features but if you're gonna buy something, might as well get the best you can afford.

Couple of friends have bought new PC's with Vista, so I think the remote access will be quite useful.

Please think of the children, I can think of at least 5 times this has been asked in the past few days, use the search and save a child ;)

I'm getting the Ultimate edition OEM, I figure for the price it's worth it, plus I’m going to put it on my laptop. I’m not likely to ever change motherboard on that, so it would be pointless to for me to get the retail.

However I’ll probably upgrade my PC to Vista as well at some point, as this is my primary gaming rig, I’ll have to go retail as it will get a motherboard upgrade at some point, I’ll be getting the Vista Home Premium Retail Edition though.

The price of Vista Retail is the major flaw in my opinion. I mean who the hell is gonna pay for £300 and something for an OS

I'm lucky I have MSDN but I can't recommend Ultimate personally knowing what "extras" are coming. I can't comment on them in any form but for me they are not worth the extra people are going to be paying out.

I already ordered very early and OCUK has shipped my 2 ordered (1 for Ultimate x64 OEM for myself and Business x64 OEM) and expect to get either on Monday or Tuesday also Ive download Epson scanner driver for Vista x64 as it released for full version but rest of it still not ready yet (it already have new driver for Epson 4490 scanner).

I wait for motherboard, graphic card, etc.. drivers first then I install Vista as clean install cos it best than upgrade version.

Microsoft have already let us know 3. Don't sound too exciting.

Although Texas Hold 'Em beats Solitaire any day!

I'm going to get home premium, I don't use the features in ultimate(don't use remote desktop and I wont use the encryption, however I very occasionally like ISS). But am interested in what the extras will include. Own be able to afford it till at least summer, so a bit of time to see what extras are released.

Going with Home premium as I don't really see a point in paying that much more for a vista version that only has a few more features than the premium one.
I will use my vista for gaming and as a media center, don't need encryption or remote desktop.
But I'm gonna go 64bit when I upgrade next time, for now 32bit is good enough.

Our MSDN only gives us the business version, is it cheap to upgrade to Ultimate?

We don't know, the Windows Anytime Upgrade licence pricing scheme isn't out yet, and even if it is, I'm not sure if the MSDNAA product will be supported.

Bought Ultimate OEM 32 bit today in store, along with a 500GB SATA II HDD. :)

Just installed it, planning on using it as a HTPC eventually so not planning on upgrading in the future, which is why I went for OEM.

And I just managed to get my printer working using win XP drivers, didn't think it would work, but it did. :D

My printer is a Lexmark btw.
