They actually do quite a lot, Nvidia is sponsoring the new CoD4 maps meaning PC gamers don't have to pay, that must cost a pretty large sum. And to be honest if you didn't expect a better graphics card to be out 6 months after the previous one you haven't followed the graphics card industry for that long.

Go complain at Apple too then, releasing a new Iphone 7 months after the previous one when most people who bought the older one have one so with 18month+ contracts.

hmmm... you make a good point. but seriously, graphics card releases have been getting closer and closer together ever since the X800 and Nvidia 6XXX ranges. Just look at how long the 9800pro lasted, and the cards before that, you were guaranteed as near as a good year at the top back then, now you buy a card and its replaced in a few months (or an ATi`s case, a few weeks)
 
My last two ati's card experiences were bad (1800xt and 3870x2), so once again I am going with nvidia gpu's. Gtx 260 for me then, unless it costs more than £300.

This is only a problem if you are only buying the fastest card for the sake/bragging right of owning the fastest card though.

Sensible consumers only upgrade when they feel their games aren't running up to speed, even when the settings have been turned down slightly.
Is it worth spending £200 - £400 to be able to set a game from Medium settings to High settings?

I'm not one on the sensible people but you get what I mean.
 
Not getting any of them here. At my res (1280x1024) my 8800GT handles everything that i throw at it. In fact i am not planning to upgrade anything until well into next year.




Unless i ever buy a bigger monitor.

i dont even know what is actualy coming out, i havnt been following the new cards, 9900GTX is all i know :)

will be interesting too see what frames people get.

by the way what is meant to be better? ATI or Nvidia? for the new cards that is..
 
i own peeps at most games anyways,so my 8800GTX will do me fine until i want to upgrade,my FPS in games like COD4/COD2 is around 700 anyway so ...havent played crysis in a while but on full settings i think i got 34 fps :(

Ati for price, Nvidia for Power or so i'm led to believe, No one 100% knows.
