I keep wanting to get my self a couple of new gpus , new been second hand :D , and a beefy psu. Every time i get paid it seems somthing sucks my cash away!!! the last 2 times been the car and a new washing machine.

I know theres a couple of you already just got new hardware , is there anybody else wanting to change / add new cpus / gpus

it's annoying having a motherboard that can take 3 gpus and i only have 1 gtx560 sitting here! i missed all of overclockers refurbed gtx 460 / 470 / 480 clearence which i was a little annoyed over.

Sadly I am going to have to wind down a little bit, some of the hardware I am using I will now need for other projects, my company don't see the excuse "I am folding on that so need a new one" as valid :(

Loads of issues with the recent ATI drivers so i've stopped till i get it sorted. Somehow i've told myself I need to upgrade by cpu.

Going from i5 750 to i5 2500k or 3570k and going to clock it.

I was going to add a second GPU until the OcUK website was found to be fibbing over having something in B Grade stock, and then I also realised my PSU wouldn't be up to the mark.

i could do with upgrading my parts machine and turning it into a dedicated folder.
Trouble is that will take a chunk of cash to do, might have to give my wife some more time to come round to that :D

At least she stopped mocking me after I explained the whole thing about F@H, she's quite interested in it now

Just found a dual quad core Xeon X5450 box with a GTS250 in it I can run for now, it's showing about 33,000 PPD.

My PPD is still going to go down though had to remove a few clients :(

I want to build something dedicated to folding, but no idea what. I'll obviously not get anywhere near the PPD I could get out of the servers I've been stress testing, but I feel that I should at least keep something going after I hand these boxes over.

What's the cheapest way I can get something capable of running bigadv without taking days per WU?

I've been looking at dual and quad socket boards (tyan, supermicro, etc), but they are few and far between at the moment.

I'm not too fussed on electricity draw, as they will be hosted at work.

I dont think there is a way to run big adv without taking days, I dont run it.

Sr-2 is pretty cheap at the moment or theres dual/quad AMD goodness which can be had for a bit more without breaking the bank.

Personally I think you could get a quad opteron running for about £1k shopping on ebay or you could get a pair of 3570ks running which will net you about 80kppd + gpus as and when.
