Probably because the forum has been spammed with 3000 series threads for weeks, and there are existing threads where questions can be asked without the need for yet another thread...

I welcome the thread locking to be honest, it was getting ridiculous having half of the new threads being about the same graphics card.

This is why. It’s my fault because I brought it up in Forum Content Discussion.

There were tons of 3000 series threads where the same stuff is discussed in multiple threads. Did we need a 3070 and 3080 VRAM thread? Did we need the 8nm Ampere, 30xx founders edition and all the owners threads? Not really, I just asked for a bit of consolidation.

So there’s no conspiracy about why threads were locked, it’s cos I moaned Some of the locks I wouldn’t have made though.

Doesn’t make sense to close Navi 23 thread hours before AMD presentation.

Not even shows respect for the users that have populate their knowledge and information.


Of course, there is lots of choo trains and derailments, but it makes part of the amusing and enjoying tech.

They locked that one as well...

Probably due to you continuously spamming the forums.

It was me.

Too many threads talking about basically the same things. We have owners thread the general ampere thread, card specific issue threads... we don’t need a thread for every single card tho.

Likewise, Gibbos thread and my 3080/90 threads are the only ones we need to discuss queue. We don’t need a thread asking about the queue position.
