I am. Been on call since 8 am yesterday morning and will remain so until 8 am today. These standby shifts are actually lucrative and well sought after, oddly (only been in this job 6 weeks). How about you folks? Anyone else doing standby while perusing the OCUK forums?

I did 2 years being on-call / standby 24/7/365 at my last place and whilst it was extremely lucrative being paid a flat rate for on-call plus double time for any time worked I am happy to not be on-call for a while. Although to be fair, I was the on-call for the on-call guys so when something really hit the fan was when I had to get involved, so that meant high-stress outages that the 3rd line team couldn't resolve.

Was oncall up until 9am this morning for the last week.

Only a one small issue this week (which was someone else's so once diagnosed when to that team to fix) and a regular scheduled DR test for an hour yesterday ...

Pretty sure I've been on call all last week and am until tomorrow morning.. Rarely get calls when on call though... I always carry my phone so can be contacted any time! Easy money!

I'm a team leader, officially on call 1 weekend out of 4, both days as half my team works one day and I work the other with the weaker half of the team. Unofficially, we're on call 24/7

Sounds like the on call I'm doing is a tad different to most. On the 24 hour standby shift I was on when I made this thread, I got more than a dozen calls. We get paid per call / work done on top of a flat rate for being on standby though, so more hassle = more £.

Just finished a week of call out. I was out for over 40 hours which will be paid at time & 3/4, apart from the 10 hours on the bank hol which will be double bubble (and the day in lieu). £175 standby. This isn't the norm though, i'm usually lucky to just get 15 hours.

All my recovery time is paid for as well. Do you guys get paid recovery time?

I'm oncall at the moment, we get a flat rate for the day and then hours on top. Don't mind doing it apart from when we get called for stuff rhats not for my team

if we get called we take 11 hrs off after and still get paid, if that's what you mean

your call out rates are good but is that's £175 for a weeks on call I'd be having words there

I’m on TS standby tomorrow. 12 hours @ £38.91 plus £85 daily uncomfortable living allowance. And once I hit 173.0 hours in the month, all overtime at x1.50. I pay over 3k per month in taxes..
