I have just made the jump from firefox, i tried firefox4 beta and thought it looked like chrome so decided to try the chrome 6 beta. i must say it feels much faster. the fonts are also something i now prefer. been a big ff fan but switched all my pc's over to chrome and enjoying.

what are your views on chrome?

I installed Chrome just yesterday to see if it had gotten any better.

Browsed to Wikimedia to upload a photo, and the page looked completely wrong. I then closed it and uninstalled it immediately. Then opened up Firefox to continue uploading my photo.

I was very unimpressed.

it takes a while to get used to i had been on ff for years and loved it, still do, but found the version 4 to look and feel totally different so gave chrome a ride, i would say its a good 15% faster in browsing.

hi

in terms of security how good is this browser , ive always used FF but would like a change if the security is just as good ?

not sure myself, but i know with firefox if you dont use a master password and firefox saves your web site passwords then if someone gets access to your pc they can simply view your passwords and access at a later stage. i have never known why firefox does that.

Can anyone tell me how to add the little favourite icons like in the image ?

thanks

These just add themself, you don't have to do anything, just drag and drop your favourites websites and it'll add an image (it works for most websties).

i dragged from my bookmarks, then edited the name, in the case of mini icons.... removed the name

one thing that bugs me about firefox and chrome is they store the passwords so that anyone who has access to your pc can view them....

No don't get me wrong.... i know that they assume you will lock your account and only people who have access blah blah blah... and yes that is valid and sensible,,, but try saying to the misses when she says "can i just check my mail" ---"er hang on let me just log off and log you on"

In Firefox, can't you tell it to require a master password (Tools -> Options -> Security -> Passwords - check the box saying "Use a master password")? Or are you thinking about the format it actually stores the passwords in on your hard drive?

Personally, once my Android mobile is upgraded to 2.2 (Froyo), I'll probably start using Chrome then, as it'll sync stuff nicely between my PC and my phone.

yeah but the master password was always a pain too, i just don't understand why either of them can't just store the password but not let you or anyone view it... have the master password on the 'view saved passwords screen' makes sense to me!!!

as for 2.2 on the desire, yeah that was why i switched, i have my bookmarks synced with chrome marks, and use chrome to phone a lot!

make a gold card and get 2.2 today!

Just say no when the browser asks then?

no i want it to save them, just don't like the idea of them being stored on the browser in a viewable format, it not a biggy, just wish they would add a password to view the saved passwords if that makes sense
