Contemplating a nice set this spring, got a few in mind for the RX8, however anyone running any and happy with the performance?

I've got AP coilovers on the Mini. The ride has certainly improved at higher speeds but at slower speeds it seems to be a bit more 'bouncy' - not that the Mini is renowned for comfort.

These coilovers are only height adjustable so I just brought them down to improve the looks, but added adjustable rear control arms to bring the camber back in line.

Basically for road use, but intend on going on track days this year, 3-4 maybe. Haven't done one in a fair few years now... but I know that a rear damper is leaking at the moment and I'll replace soon anyway so thinking picking up a nice set, dropping just 10mm but stiffening it up a little as well...

Well, new coilovers being fitted next Thursday, lets see how they go... I personally think this RX8 is a little sloppy than I'd have liked, and plus with a bust spring now and a leaky damper, time to replace them all! Went with BC racing BC BR series: Won't be dropping it much at all really, maybe an inch tops, but will be setting for a stiffer ride, not too much as I want the road ride to be decent, but certainly stiffer than at the moment

I plan on getting coilovers for my vRS, not so much to 'slam' it or make it handle on rails, just because replacing with new stock stuff is £600+!

Exactly, it was gonna cost a bomb to replace with Mazda OEM, so why bother? Might as well have something nice and new

Koni replacement dampers are often 90% of the maximum potential of coilovers but straight out of the box.

uprated springs on old dampers is likely to be a very bad thing IME

as for coilovers, unless you spend mega bucks its a bit of a waste of time. the thing i dislike most is tht the spring rates are nearly always sky high.... and then you get the brands like AP or vmaxx (ie ebay cheapies) which are a generic spring/damper with various mounts welded on to make that damper fit onto any car.

For fast road, can't go wrong with Bilstein Sport dampers, slightly stiffer springs and OEM replacement bushes.

That's what I'm going to use on my 205 GTI.

I believe these are the ones I have on the 200, 8/6 variety. Have got them set to the softest setting and they're pretty firm but tbh I can live with it.

I've got BC racing BR's on my scooby. Just make sure you get the correct spring rate for what your doing, BR are really good and will put on pretty much any spring rate you want and valve the dampers to suit.

I really like the BC's but the only issue i've got is there isn't enough droop with them which in retrospect i should have got the extended damper ones but hey live and learn.

Tein HA's here, ridiculously hard for road usage,
i hear good things about the BR's and very tempted to change to them myself.

I went Spax adjustables on my Pug 205 with a 50mm drop, think it was one spline on the torsion bar if memory serves... Piccy of your Pug please ;-)

As for these coilovers, can't wait to get them on tbh...
