There are loads of threads all over t'internet about the problems people are having with these cards.

I have an XFX 7900GTX and it works perfectly, it's 3 weeks old, according to the box it's version 1.2.

If you have one of these cards and it works fine, post what card you have, how long you've had it, and if possible what version it says on the box.

:)

It would be comforting to know that not all these cards are borked.

I think its pretty ridiculous with the amount of people saying stuff about them. A couple of my friends have XFX 7900GT Extremes and have had for atleast 2 months now and they are still fine. Most people that come on these forums overclock and i think thats the reason why they are going duff!

No it's not the reason ,my 7900GTX was 7 days old before it showed any problems & it was not overclocked at all.Nvidia have even admitted that there is problems with the 7900 series of cards and are correcting this in newer card revisions. The problem was first thought to be the pre-clocked versions but standard clocked cards also suffer from the same problem.I loved my 7900GTX but didn't want to risk getting yet another duff card so i bought a 7950GX2 instead which don't suffer problems (touch wood) :D

I built 3 PCs recently, one with an XFX 7900GT, the other two with Asus 7900GTs. All of the graphics cards have worked fine.

RMA'd my 7900gtx yesterday after finally getting round to doing some tests on it. Spent ages testing it out with various components swapped round, and it could not complete a 3DMark 03 test.

For the record, I've never overclocked anything :)

Bought my first XFX 7900GT 2 months ago, and my second two weeks ago. Both are running happily at 530/1650 in SLI. They can go higher, but Quake 4 is a bit finnicky so these speeds are fine.

No problems whatsoever so far :D

Some people are saying that Nvidia have admitted that there is a problem with these cards - does anyone have a link because I'd like to see what they said

I got an email yesterday, from someone who i constucted an sli rig for two and a half weeks ago, (2*7900gtx's) and they are suffering the classic problem with both cards.

the 7900 series imo, is a flop, like the old fx range of cards.

My 7900GT (see sig) has worked fine for months (~4, I think). It's volt-modded. I had a few artifacts at the speeds shown in my sig, until I changed to water cooling. Since then, solid as a rock. It's a Gainward BTW.

Ginga

BFG 7900 GT, not volt modded, running 24/7 at 575/1600 with a zalman 900 on it. Had it since March. No issues at all as yet.

i think i will stick with my 7800gtx untill next year and see what happens with the next range of cards.
dont think its worth changing at the moment anyway for the performance increase i would get.
also i have had no problems at all with the 7800gtx.
unless some of you guys can convince me.
cheers ian.
