Maybe they wouldn't spend 50 on a pair of loudspeaker but then maybe it not as important to them as people who would.

Pc gaming has been in decline for years and that's before people were spending 2k on GPUs or 300 for a budget card but so has the landscape of pc gaming.

The days of every other game being released for the pc either being a flight sim or some old school RPG are long gone. Gaming habits of changed that is hardly the fault of a company that releases amongst budget cards halo products.

Just like hifi. Listening habits has changed from the days of class A amps, vinyl/cd collection wall to wall in your house. There will always be the true audio lovers who will still maintain the status quo. But nowadays it about small class D amps, music streaming and compact all in one do it all amps. Would yoi say that was the fault of the high end esoteric companies who released high end, high cost components. Those are the people who would drop 50k on an audio setup but wouldn't spend 1k on a graphics let alone the 2k Nvidia are charging. Are you going to call out those manufacturers for killing musical enjoyment.? Might be a different shoe but it still fits on the same foot.
Pribdbly about who can afford these things and by the looks of it few can afford them whilst many more can afford the lower tier cards or just listen to music on headphones or through a Bluetooth speaker.

It all makes sense really. Not sure about the games but consoles do a good job for a lot more people who need to play games through a tv (again makes sense financially).

I'm looking for something with 2 x the performance of my 6800XT for not crazy money (4090 like performance). I suspect the 5080 will be around £1k, which while ridiculous I would stump up for as I want that level of performance to drive my 34" Ultrawide and 4K TV.
1k would be good really.

I’m going to just wait and see as this time around there might not be a shortage of cards and maybe hence prices won’t be inflated.

Still I am sure with 2000 cuda (if true) cores the 5090 should be at least 25% faster than the 4090.
